The overall theme of our research is to understand the organization, connectivity, function, and dynamics of large-scale brain networks. This divides into four domains that are tightly interconnected: Mouse network dynamics in relation to large scale network transitions in sleep-wake and epilepsy; developing the technology for multi-site multi-modal recording in mice; analysis of human intracranial EEG and neuroimaging data in epilepsy; data science to improve access to large human data sets, enabling analysis and machine learning. Presently we have a lab manager for our wet-lab, two rotating graduate students, five undergrad students from Emory and Georgia Tech (BME, biology, computer science, neuroscience), one post-doc, and several clinical faculty collaborators.
